Before You Sell Your Collection: A Free Checklist

Print this, work through it at your own pace, and you'll be ready to get a fair offer from anyone.

Protect it

Moved the collection somewhere cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight
Left comics in their bags and boards; handled loose books by the edges
Left toys in their original packaging
Did not clean, tape, press, or repair anything

Take stock

Counted roughly how many boxes or items there are
Found the oldest cover dates or toy copyright dates
Listed the main publishers, characters, or toy lines
Set aside anything already professionally graded
Photographed the 10 oldest or best-looking items, front and back
Took one wide photo showing the whole collection

Research

Looked up a few key items using eBay sold listings, not asking prices
Decided what matters most: top dollar, speed, or convenience

Choose a buyer wisely

Got more than one opinion on anything that looks valuable
Asked each buyer to explain how they arrived at their offer
Did not let anyone cherry-pick only the best items without a plan for the rest
Insured and tracked anything shipped
